In addition to this, all of our testing is submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals for official grading to ensure quality breeding dogs.
OFA Health Testing
These type of measurements can only be done under the hands of a licensed DVM and sedation. In addition, multiple different views (distraction and compression) are used to determine the health and precision of accuracy into the joint laxity.
This tool of testing allows for us breeders to detect OA (Osethoarthritis) and CHD (Canine Hip Dysplasia) in dogs prior to breeding them and to make informed and imperative decisions into the future of our breeding dogs.
Pennhips data is compared to thousands of other cases to access the amount of joint laxity compared to others of the same breed, as well as age.
